Research Interests
- Mathematical Climate Science
- Non-linear Partial Differential Equations
- Mathematical Oceanography
- Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
Past Work
- I worked with Dr. Ken Golden at the University of Utah studying the mathematics of sea ice. We investigated how the fractal properties of sea ice affect physcial characteristics of the ice
such as melt rate, fluid propogation, and porosity. This project led to an Arctic 'Mathpedition' (research expedition with a math flavor).
- During visits to Woods Hole Oceanography Instition (2023 and 2024) I was able to work with Drs. Claudia Cenedese, Alan Condron, and Jim McElwaine to experimentally explore
the melt rates of sediment laden icebergs.
Current Work
I am currently exploring reserach topics in the fields of non-linear waves, particularly the inverse water wave problem, and in Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI), in particular looking at elastic
structures with stochatic forcing.
